About Nytch
Nytch is an online marketplace for treasure hunters to find and shop local businesses for vintage and pre-loved items.
Nytch tackles the problem of undigitized inventory by connecting shopper searches and requests to local businesses that have enormous backlogs of unique and one-off items that will never appear online.
Nytch helps shoppers score great finds, and helps sellers prioritize their products. Nytch improves foot traffic for these businesses, and supports the circle of Finding.
The Challenge
Building a zero-to-one marketplace requires solving the "chicken and egg" problem: you need supply to attract users, and users to attract supply. We set out to modernize local commerce by digitizing a massive, untapped supply of unique, second-hand inventory that existed entirely offline.
The Approach
As Head of Design and Co-Founder, I led the strategy to bypass fragmented supply by securing high-impact partnerships with multiple national Goodwill regions and SMBs. This aggregated a massive, $1 billion-plus inventory pool, transforming Nytch into a high-utility engine for local treasure hunters.
Strategic Partnerships: I managed the supply-side partner relationships, working directly with regional leadership to integrate their disparate inventory systems into a unified mobile platform.
User-Centric Architecture: I conducted iterative market research to drive strategic pivots, translating complex consumer behavioral data into an intuitive mobile experience.
